cardboard house. by ka00te cardboard house. by ka00te
--- more photos at [link]

everyone at some point has played in a cardboard box and imagined it to be fantastical- i wanted just that. there are some things humans cant help but get genuinely excited about.

with that side, this is my cardboard house
-fully weight barring second floor
-all windows open
-cardboard motorized ceiling fan
-cardboard switches
-cardboard light fixtures
-cardboard working clock
-corrugated paneling downstairs
-fireplace, keys, mailbox, curtains, baseboards, chimney

and for the window display i made some extra lights, cardboard grass, and cardboard cobble stone.

on the outside (if you go to my website you can see) the post pops up, unlatching the front wall (so you don't have to go through the door.

haha, i jumped in my seat when i got to the last picture and saw the girl inside of the doll house. i have to agree with =Diabla69:icondiabla69: i did not think it was that big. i saw the measure meants but i still wasnt expecting that last picture.
also
amazing craftsmanship, im not sure what I'm more impressed with the construction or the detailing on the inside. that winding stair case is just lovely, and the cupboard with the hook that held a set of cardboard keys was very clever...did you have any kind of book or website for reffrence in the construction of the house?

this looks very nice!! reminds me of the project we had on elementary school where we had to build a house including all lights and radiotors. total failure ofcourse, when we went to get the teacher to show him our masterproject, the whole thing collapsed.. very nice.. ^^; so thanks for reminding me on that! =P
but seriously, this look friggin good, im impressed :)

I've worked with cardboard sculpture before, but I was wondering how you got such clean edges? I've always had problems with that.

My favourite parts of this are how it fits into the space, it looks so snug but a little uncomfortable and the bulge in the roof because it is not so perfect but also because I like things like that.
